DanPilot Greenland Achieves Exclusive ISPO Certification
DanPilot Greenland has obtained the highly demanding ISPO certification, making it the first pilotage service provider operating exclusively in Arctic waters to be certified under the ISPO code.
ISPO, or the International Standard for Maritime Pilots’ Organizations, is a unique certification for pilots and pilot organisations audited by classification societies such as Lloyds Register. Only 36 pilotage service providers globally hold an ISPO certification.
The ISPO code is a quality management system that allows pilot organisations to assess, plan, execute, and monitor all aspects of their pilot operations, including the specific requirements often needed for navigating Arctic waters.
This certification marks a significant milestone for DanPilot Greenland, confirming its commitment to providing high-quality service and safety for maritime operations in Greenland’s challenging waters.
Focus on Competence and Safety
“We are very proud to be the first pilotage service fully dedicated to Arctic operations to achieve the ISPO certification," says Peer Bøje Brandenborg, CEO of DanPilot Greenland, adding:
"This reflects not only the competence of our employees and our focus on safety but also our commitment to supporting sustainable and safe shipping in Greenland."
By obtaining this certification, DanPilot Greenland joins an exclusive group of pilot organisations worldwide, further cementing its position as a leader in Arctic pilotage. It also supports the ambitions to offer safe, reliable, and efficient services for commercial and research operations in Greenland and the Arctic.
