Mr. Bruno Dockx’s 40-year career with Brabo Harbor Pilots and Boatmen in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium highlights not only his knowledge, and experience but also his engagement versus quality, safety, and environmental management systems.
Over his career, he held multiple roles within Brabo Harbor Pilots and Boatmen, focusing on education and training, as well as safety, quality, and environmental care, which all contributed to a smooth operation of mooring, unmooring and piloting services within the port of Antwerp.
Since the mid-1990’s Bruno Dockx was already involved in the development of safety management system for pilot organizations. (Antwerp was one of the try-out ports at that time) Years later, in 2000 he became member of the task force that laid the final foundations for the ISPO code. In December 2008 he was one of the four founding members of the ISPO International User Group and as from that time until 2024 he was as IUG Board member (secretary) and member of the advisory group, actively involved in the further development and continuous improvement of the ISPO code.
Following his retirement from active service, he will continue to contribute to the ISPO in the function of administrator and will trust on his knowledge, experience and skills to be of further assistance to the board and the advisory group by dealing with the administration and the further future development of the ISPO code.
