DİTAŞ Deniz İşletmeciliği ve Tankerciliği A.Ş. was established in Istanbul on 16.03.1974 by TPAO, İPRAŞ and the Turkish Naval Foundation to purchase, build or lease marine tankers of various tonnage and equipment and use them in the maritime transportation of domestic and/or international crude oil and petroleum products .
The Turkish Naval Foundation, one of the founders, became TSKGV-Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and İPRAŞ became TÜPRAŞ-Türkiye Petrol Rafinerleri A.Ş.
Changes occurred in the legal structure of the company within the scope of the regulations made over time and it was added to the privatization administration on 11.25.1993. As a result of the acquisition of 50.98% of the company's shares belonging to the privatization administration by TÜPRAŞ on 22.10.2002, it received the status of a subsidiary of TÜPRAŞ.
With the acquisition of 51% of the shares of TÜPRAŞ by Enerji yatırımları A.Ş. on 26.01.2006, it became part of KOÇ Group Companies.
