Capt. Hans van Driel

Capt. Hans van Driel started his career at sea as dual-officer but was sailing as third, second and chief mate at Spliethoff and Dockwise heavy lift. Within Dockwise he was involved with the implementing of an incident and accident investigation system.

He became pilot in 2002 in the port of Rotterdam. He fulfilled a variety of competencies and functions within the organization of the Rotterdam Pilots. After functioning as a board member he is Chairman of the Pilot’s Corporation Rotterdam-Rijnmond since 2023 and also still active as a senior pilot.
